Since you are viewing this site, you probably have a Lemmings game that you want to get working on a windows computer. I have Windows XP, and spent lots of time buying all the Lemmings games and getting them to work on my computer. I decided I would share this information with all other Lemmings lovers. Most of the games require DOSBox. It is a free program that emulates DOS in Windows. I have easy tutorials on how to get all these Lemmings games running in Windows XP/2000:

Lemmings

Xmas Lemmings

Oh No! More Lemmings

Lemmings 2

Lemmings 3 (All New World of Lemmings/The Lemmings Chronicles)

Lemmings 3D

Lemmings Paintball

Lemmings Revolution

I also have some icons I made for some of the Lemmings games.

And I made some lemmings smiley faces.

    Hello,

I just got paintball lemmings from Europe, but all the material except whats on the gam itself is in either spanish or french. I don\’t know how to make the lemmings shoot or what the cursor means when it shakes a finger or anything else. There were no English instructions included and the cover is in other languages, but it\’s brand-new. I was wondering if you could send me a list of what all the symbols mean and how to get past the enemies and how to make the gun work, least of all! A little help is what I need. Just send the instructions to my website. (In English please!) I\’ve had a long couple of hours trying to figure it out already.

    Thanks 4 readin this!

I’ve uploaded the Lemmings Paintball Manual, just right click THIS LINK and select “save target as” It’s a .pdf file, if you don’t have adobe acrobat reader, you can download it almost anywhere but here.

Also on your cd, if you go into folder that says “winlemm” then click the .exe file that has a lemming icon, you will be able to play the original lemmings. THIS link is for the ariginal lemmings game manual.

In lemmings paintball, click lemmings to select them, click where you want them to go. If you hold your mouse somewhere they can’t go (different height, in water, etc.) the cursor will shake its finger syaing no. To shoot, just right click with your cursor over the target. If your mouse is on a different height, the paintball will go up, but not as far as going level.

if you move your mouse over something you can interact with (a box you can open, a duplicator to get lemmings back, a catapult to fling them, a paintball to refill their gun, etc.) the mouse will give you a thumbs up, then you can click it.

how do you create a .bat file?

  4. Andrew Says:

A .bat file is just a text file that windows reads, and interprets as DOS commands, so you ccan use it to run programs, open files, etc.

To create one, just right click in the folder where you want to create it, select “New” then click “Text Document” Now you will have a file that says “New text document.txt” you can open it, then edit it to say whatever you want your .bat file to say. Now rename it to a .bat file. Now if you double click on it, it will run a dos window and load programs, set options, etc. Because a .bat file can do so many things, (it can delete files too) Most people won’t download them. So I just told people how to make them for my tutorials.

The .bat files I give instructions on how to make on this site, just run certain programs with certain options.

IF you ever want to change a.bat file, right click on it, and then click “Edit” Edit it, then save it.

    I hope this helps you!

All I want to do is download lemmings off the internet onto my computer so I can play it, becuase I don’t have any other way to play the games. Please help me with this and if there is anything special I have to do I’ll definately need step by step instructions because I’m not that computer savvy. I’m almost positive I have windows XP. I believe you can download the lemmings games at abandonia.com, I’m not completly sure though. However if you go onto ebay, you can buy the windows version of lemmings (much better than the DOS version) If you just download the DOS version at abandonia.com, You can use the tutorial here to figure out how to run it, if you have any problems or can’t figure out how to do something, just post it here again.

Ebay is the best place for lemmings games, the hardest one to find is Lemmings 3. I got a package that had lemmings Paintball, Lemmings 3D, and Xmas Lemmings.

The reason that you have to download DOSBox, is because Lemmings 3D needs Dos to run, DOSbox imitates dos, in windows.

To get it to work, Download Dosbox,

    install it to C:\Program Files\DOSBox 0.65

Download THIS file, then move it into the folder C:\Program Files\DOSBox 0.65

Now, Right click in that folder and select new, then select Text Document.
Open the text document and write, (with the quotes):

    “C:\Program Files\DOSbox 0.65\dosbox.exe” -conf “L3D.conf”

Now rename the text document to Lemmings 3D.bat Now open the file that you downloaded, (Open it with textpad), go down to the bottom, and replace all the P’s with the letter of your CD drive. Save it.

Now make a shortcut of Lemmings 3D.bat on your desktop. When you double click it, it should run Lemmings 3D. Let me know if you have any problems.

  10. Harry Says:

    Hi Andrew

Do you know if the Lemmings games will work on Vista with the XP2 Compatibility enabled.
    Cheers
    Harry

  11. Andrew Says:

I would try using DOSBox 0.65, I know that it works with Vista. You may have to adjust the .conf files to get it to display in the right resolution. I don’t know if you would be able to run it in vista without DOSBox, but I’m pretty sure you can’t. Just use DOSBox, and it should work fine.

    hi andrew
I have got lemmings for windows and can get it to run but have a letterbox style window and cannot make it full screen. I maybe dozey and may be simple to do but i can’t manage it.
    many thanks
    albert

  13. Andrew Says:

Because the levels in the original lemmings game only scroll side to side, there is no reason to make it full screen. When you click the full screen button on the window, it should stretch the window all the way across your screen. If you want it to be bigger, go to File, set options. then you can adjust the zoom and resolution. Hope this helps!

  14. Lincoln Says:

    Hey Andrew!

Do you ever think they will come out with any lemmings games on Mac?

    Thanks a bunch!

  15. Andrew Says:

You can run DOSBox on Mac, so you could probably get the DOS games to run on a mac.
